Description
Car nano coating for easier exterior care
Liquid Skin is a water-based silane coating that you apply after washing; it is not a car shampoo. On a clean, dry surface it leaves a clear, glossy layer that helps water bead, so road grime and bird droppings come off more easily at the next wash. It helps reduce paint colour fading caused by UV exposure and helps protect treated surfaces against corrosion. The effect can last up to 52 weeks; the actual duration depends on weather, washing and how the car is used. It does not repair existing scratches or stop stone chips.
The coating is fully transparent: the original paint colour shows through, with added gloss after buffing.
The formula is 99% natural and contains no PFC, wax or silicone. The mixture is not classified as hazardous under CLP, and the label carries no hazard pictograms. Liquid Skin is made in Estonia.
Where to use it
Use it on undamaged vehicle paint, exterior glass, exterior plastic and metal trim, and wheels, on cars as well as other vehicles. It can also protect hard interior surfaces such as plastic, glass and metal trim, but clean them before application. Try a small, inconspicuous area first. For matte or satin paint, wraps, protective films and specialist coatings, check the finish maker’s care instructions.
How to apply
- Wash the car thoroughly, rinse away loose grit and dry it with a microfibre car drying towel. Our guide to washing a car at home covers each step.
- Work in the shade at 10–25 °C, on a cool surface and when no rain is expected. Use 2–3 sprays per square metre and spread the product in a thin, even layer with the non-woven cloth.
- Let the coating dry fully, then buff away any haze with the soft microfibre cloth.
Keep the vehicle out of rain for at least one hour after application so the coating has time to react.
After that, wash the car as usual. We recommend reapplying at least twice a year, for example in spring and autumn, or sooner if water stops beading. Lumina car shampoo is made for the wash itself. The Liquid Skin and Lumina set gives you both steps in one order.
What’s in the box
Every 250 ml bottle comes with a 40 × 38 cm non-woven microfibre cloth for spreading and a 40 × 40 cm soft microfibre cloth for buffing. Multi-packs also include two cloths per bottle, giving you 6 cloths in the 3-pack, 12 in the 6-pack and 24 in the 12-pack. Both cloths are also sold separately as spares. We recommend wearing gloves during application. Keep the bottle out of reach of children.
FAQ
What surfaces can I use Liquid Skin on?
Clean, dry exterior paint, glass, plastic and metal trim, and wheels. It can also protect hard interior plastic, glass and metal. Test a small area first, and check the finish maker's instructions for matte paint, wraps and other specialist surfaces.
Can I apply this car coating spray at home?
Yes, you don't need special tools. Work in the shade at 10–25 °C, use 2–3 sprays per square metre, spread with the non-woven cloth and buff the dry surface with the soft cloth. Both cloths come with every bottle. Keep the vehicle out of rain for at least one hour after application so the coating has time to react.
Is Liquid Skin the same as car wax?
No. Liquid Skin is a water-based silane coating with no wax or silicone in it. Its effect can last up to 52 weeks, depending on use and care. Unlike a wax finish, it forms a silane coating. It is fully transparent, so the original paint colour remains visible, with added gloss after buffing.
Can I use it on the windscreen?
Yes. On clean exterior glass, including the windscreen, it helps rain bead and run off more easily, especially while you drive.
Does Liquid Skin stop scratches and stone chips?
No. It makes dirt easier to wash off, but it does not repair scratches or provide impact protection. Rinse loose grit away before washing so it is not rubbed across the paint.
How long does the coating last?
Up to 52 weeks under suitable conditions. Road salt, brush car washes and weather can wear it down sooner. We recommend reapplying at least twice a year, for example in spring and autumn.
How do I avoid streaks when applying it?
Start with a clean, dry and cool surface, use a thin even layer, let it dry fully and buff with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Too much product can leave visible haze.
