GoGoNano, an Estonian nanotechnology company specializing in cleaning and surface protection, has launched a complete whole-home series built around a single principle: clean surfaces and protect them in the same step. The series — EcoClean, EcoGlass, EcoFloor, EcoDescaler, and EcoCare — replaces the conventional approach of cleaning today and protecting separately, often with a different product, sometimes never. Each formula deposits a microscopic nano-layer during the cleaning process, leaving treated surfaces measurably more resistant to dirt, water marks, and mineral buildup than they were before cleaning began.
This combined approach is unusual in the consumer cleaning market. Nano-protective coatings have existed in industrial and automotive contexts for years, but household cleaners that integrate the technology into ready-to-use formulas remain rare worldwide. GoGoNano’s series is among the first to offer the full suite — floors, glass, sanitary surfaces, limescale-prone areas, and general household cleaning — as a coordinated whole-home system rather than isolated specialty products.
How the 2-in-1 nano coating works
Conventional cleaners are formulated to dissolve and lift dirt. Once the surface dries, it returns to its original state — equally vulnerable to the next round of dirt, fingerprints, water spots, or limescale. GoGoNano’s formulations contain water-based nano-particles that remain on the surface after cleaning, bonding into the micropores of materials like ceramic, glass, sealed wood, stone, and chrome.
The resulting layer is invisible, food-safe, and measured in nanometers rather than millimeters. Its practical effect is hydrophobic and oleophobic behavior:
- Water beads and rolls off rather than spreading and evaporating into spots
- Oily residues bind less aggressively to the treated surface
- Dust and dirt have fewer micropores to settle into
- Mineral deposits take longer to bond and accumulate
The durability of the nano-layer depends on which product applied it. The 2-in-1 cleaning formulas — EcoClean, EcoFloor, and EcoDescaler — leave a protective layer that typically lasts two to four weeks, renewing automatically with each subsequent cleaning since the next application deposits a fresh nano-layer. The dedicated nano-coating products — EcoCare for sanitary surfaces and EcoGlass Protector for glass — are formulated specifically for long-term protection and can last up to six months depending on surface type and usage conditions.
The protective effect reduces how quickly surfaces accumulate visible dirt and how much effort is required to clean them next time. In practice, this means fewer cleanings per month, less product consumed over time, and a reduction in the cumulative chemical exposure for households, pets, and the environment.
The products in the series
EcoClean — Universal interior and bathroom cleaner
EcoClean is the universal interior and bathroom cleaner. It is alcohol-free, water-based, and removes more than 99% of dirt and microorganisms from sanitary and interior surfaces. It works on smooth, rough, natural, and plastic surfaces — the practical implication being that one bottle replaces several specialized cleaners in the average household.
EcoGlass — Streak-free glass and window cleaner
EcoGlass is a concentrated, ammonia-free window and glass cleaner. It handles both new and aged glass surfaces, leaves a streak-free finish, and is compatible with window-cleaning robots at a 1:20 dilution ratio. For glass that needs longer-lasting protection — bathroom mirrors, shower enclosures, exterior windows in hard-water areas — EcoGlass works alongside the separately available EcoGlass Protector, a dedicated nano-coating for glass.
EcoFloor — Hard floor cleaner with nano protection
EcoFloor is a non-foaming floor cleaner formulated for hard surfaces including laminate, hardwood, vinyl, PVC, and tile. One liter provides up to 20 cleaning sessions covering 50–100 m². The nano-layer it deposits typically lasts two to four weeks under normal household traffic and is compatible with floor-cleaning robots.
EcoDescaler — Limescale remover with nano coating
EcoDescaler addresses limescale in bathrooms, kitchens, and small appliances. The active descaling agent is mild formic acid at 0.4% concentration — strong enough to dissolve calcium buildup, gentle enough that the product carries no hazard warnings and requires no ventilation precautions. After descaling, it leaves a nano-layer that slows mineral redeposition, extending the interval between descaling cycles.
EcoCare — Sanitary surface protector
EcoCare is the dedicated sanitary surface protector for chrome fixtures, shower screens, and ceramic ware. It creates a superhydrophobic shield that causes water to bead and roll off, taking soap scum and mineral deposits with it before they can bond to the surface. Unlike the 2-in-1 cleaning formulas in the series, EcoCare is formulated for long-term protection and can last up to six months between applications depending on surface use.
Real-world applications
The series is designed for typical European household conditions, including the hard-water regions common across the Nordics, the Baltics, and Central Europe. In practical terms:
- Bathrooms in hard-water areas accumulate visible limescale and soap scum within days of cleaning. The EcoClean and EcoCare combination, or EcoDescaler for heavily affected surfaces, extends the visible-clean interval substantially.
- Glass shower enclosures and bathroom mirrors are particularly prone to mineral etching over time. EcoGlass for routine cleaning, paired with EcoGlass Protector for long-term defense, addresses both maintenance and prevention.
- Households with pets and children benefit from the absence of harsh residues. EcoFloor in particular is formulated to leave no toxic residue that pets might transfer from paws to fur, and EcoClean is allergen-free and skin-safe.
- Robot vacuum and mop users find that the non-foaming, concentrated formulas work in machines designed for low-suds operation. Several products in the range are explicitly tested for robot compatibility.
Sustainability and formulation
All products in the series are manufactured in the European Union, formulated without PFAS compounds, and biodegradable. None carry hazard warning labels. The active nano-particles are water-based and pose no risk to people, pets, or aquatic environments at consumer-use concentrations.
The reduction in cleaning frequency that comes with the nano-layer has a measurable downstream effect across several dimensions:
- Less product used per year per household
- Fewer plastic bottles consumed and discarded
- Reduced shipping volume and associated emissions
- Lower chemical load entering municipal wastewater
The series is positioned not as a single-product environmental claim but as a system designed to reduce overall household cleaning impact.
Comparison with conventional cleaners
Traditional cleaning products are formulated around one objective: remove dirt now. Once the surface is rinsed and dried, the product is gone. GoGoNano’s approach treats cleaning and protection as a single workflow. The chemistry is more sophisticated and the per-bottle cost slightly higher, but the per-cleaning cost is typically lower because each application also reduces the frequency of future cleanings.
For households accustomed to weekly limescale battles or daily glass smudge cycles, the change is most noticeable in the time and effort saved between cleanings.
From the CEO
“The idea was straightforward: if we’re already cleaning the surface, why not leave it better protected than we found it? Most cleaning products are designed to do one job and leave. Ours clean first and then leave a protective nano-layer behind. The result is surfaces that stay cleaner for longer with less effort and fewer chemicals over time. That’s the whole point of the series.”
— Kaur Reinjärv, CEO of GoGoNano
